On Thursday, September 15th, our Tjene team had the opportunity to participate in Holland Bloorview's first Lawn Bowling fundraising event. We thank the Holland Bloorview team for hosting an amazing and fun event at the Leaside Lawn Bowling Club. With a total of 6 teams and a handful of spectators from Tjene, our team had enjoyed the great live DJ, pizza, drinks, and a friendly competition of lawn bowling to support Holland Bloorview.
On Friday, June 17th, 2022, our Tjene team joined One Million Trees Mississauga for our fourth tree planting event. Each year we are excited to have the opportunity to help plant additional trees within the City of Mississauga parks. As we had planted 150 trees last year, we were happy to have planted an additional 60 trees this year at Victory Park, which brings us to a total of 528 planted trees to date!
Our Tjene team joins Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital's annual Capes for Kids Fundraiser for our 4th year in a row. Holland Bloorview is Canada's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital in Toronto and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to come together as a team to support a Toronto-based hospital that has also personally impacted some Tjene's family members.
On Saturday, October 23rd, the Tjene team participated in Village Eulogia's annual fundraising event, "Better Together," to support the staff and families within the Village Eulogia community. Each year, Village Eulogia organizes one main fundraising event to support their ongoing and new programs for their families. We have had the opportunity to partner with this organization since 2017 (checkout our 2019 fundraising event at the Toronto Zoo!), and are happy to gather as a team to continue to support our local charities within Toronto.
On Friday, October 15th, 2021, our Tjene team joined One Million Trees Mississauga for our third tree planting event. Our team was excited to take on the challenge of planting 10 more trees than our last tree planting event in 2019 at Mississauga's Dellwood Park. This year, we planted a total of 150 trees within an hour at Mississauga's Hawkins Glen Park, which brings us to a total of 468 planted trees to date!
On Saturday, September 18th, our Tjene team participated in our second beach volleyball tournament hosted by Heatwave to help fundraise for Childhood Cancer Research at SickKids. Many Toronto-based corporations came together at Woodbine Beach for a friendly competition between different corporate teams all with the goal to support the continual improvement of child healthcare at SickKids.
On Thursday, June 22nd, our Tjene team participated in our second Bloorview Bowlers fundraising event. Various companies across Toronto came together for a friendly competition, great music, as well as food and beverages to support Holland Bloorview and their continual programs and services they provide to many children and youth.
On Friday, June 9th, 2023, our Tjene team joined One Million Trees Mississauga for our fifth tree planting event. This year, we planted a total of 125 trees at Mississauga's Huron Park, which brings our team's total count to 653 trees planted to date!
Our Tjene team joins Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital for our 5th Capes for Kids fundraiser! Holland Bloorview is Canada's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital in Toronto, providing facilities, support, resources and various programs to help many families who have children with disabilities. We are so glad to have the opportunity to give back to our community through Holland Bloorview's annual Capes for Kids fundraiser.
